Rex D. Geveden is president and chief executive officer of BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT), a $2.5B nuclear technology and manufacturing company headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia. As CEO, Mr. Geveden directs all business operations and leads strategic planning, capital allocation and leadership succession.

BWXT manufactures nuclear reactors, fuel and components for the U.S. Navy; provides nuclear technical services at contractor-operated Department of Energy and other U.S. government laboratories and facilities; develops and manufactures microreactors for national security and space applications; and processes special nuclear materials and advanced nuclear fuels. BWXT also manufactures medical radioisotopes and supplies precision manufactured components, services and fuel for the commercial nuclear power industry.

With about 8,000 employees, BWXT has 14 major operating sites in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., comprising over four million square feet of manufacturing space. In addition, BWXT joint ventures operate at a dozen U.S. Department of Energy sites and two NASA facilities.

Mr. Geveden joined BWXT in 2015 as chief operating officer (COO) before advancing to CEO in 2017. Previously, he advanced to the position of executive vice president at Teledyne Technologies over an eight-year period, ultimately leading the Digital Imaging and Engineered Systems segments of the business.

He spent 17 years at NASA, including service as the agency’s COO responsible for a $16 billion portfolio of work in NASA’s mission areas of science, aeronautics, space operations and exploration, along with oversight of NASA’s 10 field centers.

Mr. Geveden chairs the board of TTM Technologies, Inc., a global electronics manufacturing company. He is also on the Board of Trustees of the Universities Research Association and is a member of the Wall Street Journal CEO Council. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics from Murray State University.

Robb A. LeMasters is senior vice president and chief financial officer of BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT). He directs all aspects of corporate finance and information technology for the company.

Prior to being appointed to this position in 2021, Mr. LeMasters served as senior vice president and chief strategy officer, driving BWXT’s overall corporate growth strategy in its various markets and overseeing the company’s investor relations and mergers and acquisitions functions. Additionally, he was an independent director to BWXT’s board of directors from 2015 to 2020. Before joining BWXT, Mr. LeMasters was a managing director at Blue Harbour Group and a founding partner of Theleme Partners.

Mr. LeMasters also previously served as a partner at The Children’s Investment Fund and a Vice President in the Relative Value/Event-Driven Group at Highbridge Capital Management. Mr. LeMasters began his career as an analyst at Morgan Stanley & Co. in the mergers and acquisitions group and subsequently joined Forstmann Little & Co. as a private equity analyst.

Mr. LeMasters earned a bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.

Bob Duffy is senior vice president and chief administrative officer for BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT), overseeing human resources, security and environmental health and safety business operations.

With a passion for talent management and workforce development, Mr. Duffy has more than 30 years of human resources experience. Before joining BWXT, he served as senior vice president and chief human resources and administration officer for Harris Corporation, now known as L3Harris Technologies. His responsibilities included directing human resources, supply chain, quality, safety, security and continuous improvement functions. Prior to that, Mr. Duffy also held human resources leadership positions of increasing responsibility for several business units within United Technologies Corporation.

Mr. Duffy has completed multiple certifications, including the emerging leader program from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and the Advanced Human Resource Executive Program at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. He also holds a master’s degree in management and technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from Muhlenberg College.

Omar Meguid is senior vice president and chief digital officer for BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT). He is responsible for the company’s comprehensive digital platform supporting its business operations in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom.

With over 30 years of corporate experience in incorporating governance and architecture development to establish strategic roadmaps for business and corporate functions, Mr. Meguid joined BWXT from his IT consulting firm All Digital. Previously, he served as vice president and chief information officer for L3Harris Technologies. Mr. Meguid began his career at United Technologies Corporation –  later becoming Raytheon Technologies in 2020   –  where he held positions of increasing responsibility in all IT disciplines for several business units within the company before he was named vice president and chief information officer for United Technologies Commercial divisions (OTIS Elevator Company, Carrier Corporation and UTC Fire and Security).

Mr. Meguid is a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon eBusiness program and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business Executive program and Senior Executive Program. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunications engineering from Cairo University in Egypt. He is also fluent in English, French and Arabic and is a patent award recipient for elevator display systems.

Suzy Sterner is the senior vice president and chief corporate affairs officer for BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT). She is responsible for developing and executing strategic engagement with federal and state governments, trade associations and think tanks. In addition to government relations, she also leads corporate communications and public relations as well as the company's community relations and environmental, social, and governance initiatives aligning strategic priorities to promote and enhance the corporate brand.

Ms. Sterner has more than 30 years of leadership experience in various industries, including public affairs, space, defense and aviation. Before joining BWXT, she served as a senior director of congressional relations for Northrop Grumman. Prior to that, she held executive roles of increasing responsibility in government relations. Her experience also includes marketing, communications and public relations.

Ms. Sterner earned a bachelor’s degree in international politics and economics from Middlebury College and a master’s degree in management with a specialization in not-for-profit programs from the University of Maryland Global Campus. She also completed executive leadership programs at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is a founding member of the Washington, D.C. chapter of CHIEF, and a current member and past president of both Women in Aerospace and the National Space Club. She is also a musician with the National Concert Band of America and an avid musical theater enthusiast.

Ronald (Chip) O. Whitford, Jr. is senior vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary of BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT), responsible for its legal, ethics and compliance functions as well as serving as an executive liaison and secretary to the board of directors. He joined the company in 2017 and most recently served as vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant corporate secretary. 

Prior to joining BWXT, Whitford served as in-house counsel for a number of public companies in the manufacturing, financial services and software industries. He served as general counsel and secretary of Tasty Baking Company; vice president, legal and assistant secretary of PHH Corporation; associate general counsel and assistant secretary of Lorillard, Inc.; and group vice president, associate general counsel and assistant secretary of Rimini Street, Inc.

Mr. Whitford began his legal career in private practice in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and English from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

Dr. Jonathan W. Cirtain is senior vice president and chief development officer of BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) and president & CEO of BWXT Medical Ltd. He is responsible for identifying and developing new technologies for the company by integrating technical expertise and resources across the enterprise. He joined BWXT as director of commercial technologies in 2017 and has also served as BWXT Advanced Technologies LLLC’s president and chief technology officer.

Dr. Cirtain spent nine years with NASA. He received the prestigious Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers and held positions of increasing responsibility from astrophysicist to the Science Research Office manager. He also co-founded Astraea, Inc., a machine learning and data science analytics company.

With a passion for design and innovation, Dr. Cirtain has contributed to and led teams in revolutionary science and technology applications. He has developed plasma confinement systems for lab research, a solid rocket motor system for suborbital vehicles, and graphics processing unit technology for video systems.

Dr. Cirtain earned his Ph.D. in physics from Montana State. He also holds two bachelor’s degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Memphis. Dr. Cirtain has served on advisory committees for NASA, the National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy, National Academy for Science and Engineering, Royal Academy of Science, European Space Agency and numerous universities.

John R. MacQuarrie is president of BWX Technologies, Inc.’s (BWXT) Commercial Operations, which includes BWXT Canada Ltd. (BWXT Canada), its subsidiaries BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc., BWXT Precision Manufacturing Inc., and Intech International Inc. as well as BWXT Canada’s affiliate, BWXT Medical Ltd. (BWXT Medical).

BWXT in Canada has over 60 years of expertise in the design, manufacturing, commissioning and service of critical nuclear components, over 50 years of experience in the supply of CANDU® fuel to the Canadian nuclear industry and decades of experience in the development, manufacturing, packaging and delivery of medical isotopes and radiopharmaceuticals to the nuclear medicine industry.

With 27 years of nuclear industry experience, Mr. MacQuarrie’s career includes 23 years with the Company.

Previously, Mr. MacQuarrie served as vice president, Business Development & Marketing for the Company’s commercial nuclear energy operating group. Prior to that he was the vice president of Nuclear Services for the Company where he was responsible for global services delivery. He assumed this role after several years as the general manager of Nuclear Services and Equipment for the Company’s Canadian operations.

Mr. MacQuarrie holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degrees of applied science in mechanical engineering from the University of Toronto and is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario. He is also the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Nuclear Association, is a board member with the Nuclear Innovation Institute and sits on an Advisory Committee for Women in Nuclear.

Kevin M. McCoy is president of BWX Technologies, Inc.’s (BWXT), Government Operations. Mr. McCoy is responsible for the oversight of BWXT’s Nuclear Operations and Technical Services Groups and its subsidiary Advanced Technologies LLC.

McCoy has more than 35 years of leadership in shipyard operations, nuclear industrial operations and senior engineering positions in the U.S. Navy and private sector. He served as chief engineer of the U.S. Navy from 2005-2008, and as commander of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) from 2008-2013. He retired with the rank of Vice Admiral. Most recently, Mr. McCoy served as president of Irving Shipbuilding Inc. in Nova Scotia, Canada.

With extensive shipbuilding and ship repair related experience, McCoy’s span of accomplishments includes the design, procurement, construction oversight, maintenance, modernization and engineering support of the U.S. Navy’s fleet of submarines, surface ships, aircraft carriers and weapon systems. He is also a qualified surface warfare officer with nuclear maintenance and engineering experience that includes four years serving as the Nuclear Repair Officer and Submarine Tender Repair Officer.

Mr. McCoy earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and an engineer’s degree in ocean engineering/naval architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from Emory University.

Gary D. Camper is president of BWXT Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. (NOG). In this role, he oversees the five NOG operational sites across four states representing more than 5,000 employees, including the manufacture of nuclear reactor components for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers and other nuclear and non-nuclear R&D and component production.

Mr. Camper’s tenure at BWXT extends over 40 years and includes various operational and leadership positions. He most recently served as NOG’s chief operating officer and vice president of contracts and procurement. He also managed operations at NOG-Lynchburg in Virginia, where he supervised all production fabrication activities, including assembly welding, machining and tooling, as well as production planning, maintenance and scheduling.

Additionally, Mr. Camper has held leadership positions in the Quality Control, Engineering and Project Management departments.

Mr. Camper holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University’s (ODU) Batten College of Engineering and Technology and is an active member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the ODU Engineering Department. He is the co-chair of the Executive Committee for Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) in Danville, Virginia, and a Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance board member.

Heatherly H. Dukes is president of BWX Technologies, Inc.’s (BWXT) Technical Service Group (TSG).

As president, Ms. Dukes oversees critical work for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), especially the Office of Nuclear Energy missions, the National Nuclear Security Administration, environmental management cleanup initiatives, Naval Reactors deactivation and decommissioning (D&D) priorities, and operations and maintenance activities that support NASA’s Space Launch System, the most powerful rocket in the world.

Ms. Dukes has more than 37 years of experience in the nuclear industry, including 35 years of diverse management roles in project management, operations, engineering, waste management, maintenance, nuclear safety and criticality safety, and D&D. She joined the Company in 1995 and has been in her current role since 2018.

During her career, Ms. Dukes has held key positions at the Savannah River site in Aiken, South Carolina, the West Valley Demonstration Project in New York and Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth LLC in Portsmouth, Ohio. Her depth and breadth of experience include reactor operations, deactivation and/or demolition of around 200 facilities, engineering and construction support for Capital Asset projects, disposition and storage of vitrified high-level waste canisters and characterization and cleanup projects for enrichment facilities.

Ms. Dukes earned her Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering from the University of Florida and holds a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management.

Joseph K. Miller is the president of BWXT Advanced Technologies LLC (AT), a subsidiary of BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) focused on demonstrating and deploying new nuclear technology for terrestrial and space applications. He is also president of subsidiaries Cunico Corporation and Dynamic Controls, Ltd. 

During his 24-year career, Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS Norfolk (SSN 714). He was a mechanical test engineer for new construction of Virginia-class submarines, as well as a semiconductor equipment engineer. 

At BWXT, Mr. Miller served as a system design manager of various nuclear engineering projects as well as test engineering manager, validating the design of the mPower™ small modular reactor nuclear steam supply system. 

Under Mr. Miller’s leadership, Advanced Technologies is currently active in delivering the advanced microreactor demonstration for Project Pele and it’s commercial microreactor product named BANR. AT is also serving as the designer and manufacturer for DARPA and NASA’s DRACO program to demonstrate space nuclear propulsion. 

Mr. Miller holds a master’s degree in radiation health physics from Oregon State University. He serves on the Central Virginia Community College Educational Foundation Board, the Nuclear Energy Maritime Organization Ltd. Board and the Oregon State University Nuclear Science and Engineering Advisory Board.
